Coventry UCU members will be organising a teach-out, entitled ‘(Re)humanising the University: an Alternative Coventry’, enabling staff and students to be engaged and enjoy high-quality education in an alternative setting.
Are you a Coventry academic, educator, researcher or professional staff — would you like to suggest a session/conversation to run while on strike? Let us know!
(Re)humanising the University: an Alternative Coventry
The concept behind ‘(Re)humanising the University’ is that we exist at a time where we have lost a sense of community and academic collective. We feel that now is the time to explore and move beyond the current idea of a university as a corporation, a mechanism with all its processes and a conduit to convey information to students, which has in turn dehumanized us as staff and the idea of the university. Instead we want to focus on cognition and bring back humanity into the soulless university. Why don’t we come together to explore what we want our university to be?
The time has come to (re)humanise our university!
Deadline for proposals is the end of Thursday 23 January 7pm.
