Action Short of Strike (ASOS) Returns 23rd March – 29th April 2020!

Members voted unanimously for ASOS and Reballoting at our Branch Meeting on 19th February 2020 and ASOS will run from 23rd March until 29th April 2020.

  • ASOS – Marking and assessment boycott.
  • ASOS – Boycott of the CORE/Clear Review system. 
  • Re-balloting for a continued mandate to carry on our local dispute beyond 30th April 2020.

We want the group leadership team to engage with meaningful negotiations for a settlement which gives a modernised and fair, pay and appraisal system aligned with the National Framework Appendix C.

We know you have many questions! We are currently compiling a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions Guide to ASOS; with the support of UCU Regional Office.  This is taking a bit of time but it will be ready for the next Branch Meeting on Wednesday 11th March 13:00 – 15:00 hours in WM208. 

Why are we re-balloting?

This is the furthest we have ever come in negotiations with senior leadership and it takes time!  Remember – Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Our mandate runs out at the end of April 2020 and we want to keep the pressure on senior leadership!  This means we need more time and the only way we can get this is by re-balloting. The postal re-ballot will be open from Thursday 12th March 2020 and ends on Thursday 2nd April 2020.  Please remember to post your vote – we need to beat the 50% threshold return AGAIN!
