The following email was sent on 2 March 2021 to the Chief People Officer in response to the University’s Annual Leave Proposal.

Dear Chief People Officer

We understand that CU Group UCU received confirmation (26/2/21) that their members would receive the following support:  

• HPT (HPL) cover would be provided after exhausting all other avenues. 
• Annual leave should be a significant number of continuous days.
• Managers will not dictate when staff take annual leave.
• Staff should not work during their annual leave. 

Disappointingly UCU Coventry University have not received any such clear assurances from yourself. 

Hence having noted Coventry University’s proposal and following further consultation with our members, UCU cannot support the university’s proposal for changes to annual leave.
